Werdhölzli Wastewater Treatment Plant, Switzerland

Our Challenge

When planning the modernization of the treatment plant, it was discovered that no updated blueprints or engineering records were available. The construction was highly complex, and a traditional surveying approach would have taken too long, causing the loss of valuable opportunities — which is why they chose us to generate the digital twin with the required level of detail and within the needed timeframe.

Solution Implemented

The plant was scanned to generate a 3D visualizer (Google Street View style), and all operational systems and subsystems — including piping, tanks, structures, etc. — were modeled. This greatly facilitated the work of the architects and engineers responsible for the executive project.

Benefits

With high-quality infrastructure data available in minimal time, the modernization was planned and executed with significant savings in time and cost, while also enabling future use of the digital twin for maintenance, logistics, and asset management.
